Celestial Dragon by KezzaLN Celestial Dragon by KezzaLN
My biggest pride and joy within cross stitch to date (possibly ever)

11"x16" on navy 28ct evenweave. It is a kit by Design Works (designer Joan Elliot) and comes with 14ct aida.
I switched to the navy evenweave because I thought it would stand out more than standard white*

As my biggest and best project I wanted to document it accordingly :P
This took me 61 days in total between 12/07/2012 - 16/11/2013

It has:
121 pearl beads.
111 green beads.
82 purple beads.

131hrs 40 on all main stitching.
21hrs 43mins total on backstitch.
2hrs 17mins on beading.

157hrs 10mins in total.

It's FINISHED!

*The fabric that came with it I used for my cookie monster stitch :P

Oh I love Joan Elliot's stuff! At the moment I'm working on the phoenix from her Bewitching Cross Stitch book. I want to do this design next. :)

Good on you to have chosen a differently-coloured Aida! Your Dragon is simply superb. There's so much detail in there that just doesn't quite show on photo, the colours are lively, it's just... wow! Worth its time ^^

Fantastic! I love it! And I agree, the navy blue really does make it stand out more. The colors are great, but it's really all those little details that totally push this over the top. Good job!

Thank you. Surprised myself in another way with this one. Normally backstitch is my fave bit but this time it was the beads :D first real project I've used them on :P
